Mom has a live-in boyfriend who cannot care for her as well as us so on his nights we can return home and b/c of the motion detection we can watch him with the phone application.
Mom requires 24/7 care so at night who ever stays up with her can sit in the tv room to not disturb her and still see and hear her. We just keep in plugged in and running at all times to amplify her voice as her speech is very limited and soft. The sound quality is amazing so if she wakes up and we are in another room we can hear her calling for someone. The camera enables me to continue house work while keeping a close eye on mom who cannot move and is in a hospital bed. This camera is amazing and a huge in providing my loved one the best possible care. My mother-in-law has terminal cancer and we brought her home for hospice care. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. If you need further help, please reach me at and refer to this review. Information on location is neither shared nor saved by us. Hello StaceyElisabeth! The app asks for your location to be able to scan nearby Wi-Fi® networks, which are then displayed in the app during the setup procedure and from which you select yours. Also their own privacy policy on their website. It says the location info is necessary to “forward you to a localized version of our product website.” So, that contradicts the response I received from the team. But, that’s not the justification the app uses for asking for WiFi when you go into your settings. Too much personal information is always being collected just from the nature of this product.Įdit - I just got a response that the location needs to be shared to connect to WiFi.
I get that app developers need to make money with their free app versions, and so that requires advertising, but for the love of god, there is no need for the sharing of our location data. While I have seen a recent decrease in the number of pop ups before I can even view the monitor, it was getting out of control for a while. It has nothing to do with the actual functionality of the app. The justification the app uses for requiring location information is to serve us relevant location specific ads. I turned location data back on and it started working instantly. Then the app stopped working, saying there was a connection problem with my camera. I noticed that every time I log in my phone starts sharing my location, so I turned it off. I bought this monitor to be able to check in from where ever I was. I should not have to be sharing my location information to check in on my child. Thanks! David & the Hubble Connected Team Also please add this review as a reference. It may be the different firmware in the older Focus 66. When I walk in front of the camera while it’s powered on, it should record me every time, but it doesn’t. Also, this camera seems to selectively record motion. Also on this camera, it’s only supposed to be black & white, even though sometimes it records in color. I’ve already lowered the sensitivity so that sunlight in room doesn’t cause recording. It is only supposed to record with motion. On my older camera, the app records every 3 minutes, even with no motion. The other issue may be the camera itself, even though both my cams have the latest firmware according to the app. I made sure I have my correct time zone set for both cams. My recording times listed are 1 hour off from April to October. The more annoying issue is that the app has no support for daylight savings. There are a couple of things I’d like fixed. It’s nice that I can change the sensitivity on the app, view them on my IPhone while I’m away, and save recordings. I really like being able to get a real time view of my pet and my door. I have 2 Motorola Focus 66 cams I use with this software.
